Technical governance within the institution involves the use of 'Institutional Large Language Models' (ILLMs) that are hosted on-premises to ensure data security. These models allow researchers to input sensitive preliminary data into the proposal drafting process without risking the leak of intellectual property to public model providers. The ResOps workflow now includes an 'AI Compliance Audit' phase, where proposals are screened for 'Algorithmic Hallucinations' and 'Plagiarism of Thought.' This ensures that the core innovation remains human-driven, while the AI handles the administrative burden of cross-referencing funder requirements and optimizing keywords for automated screening tools.
